Garden offerings
Tonight my friend J.B. came to visit bearing gifts from his garden. His hot peppers looked so fresh and pretty that I could not resist to take a picture to share with you. I think that I shall use some peppers to make a yogurt sauce as they do in India with mint (finely chopped herbs and a few spoonfuls of yogurt work really well to cleanse your palate of heavier food such as rich meat dishes) and other peppers I will use to infuse some flavor onto some white rice (I love to chop herbs and add them to rice that has just been cooked–from my past experience it is best to add the herbs after the rice has been cooked; otherwise some of the herbs lose their pungency). I will need to grab a salad and some meat to go with my pepper dishes.
I just find it lovely to trade garden goodies with friends, although this time I actually just received and did not offer anything in return. We just take turns…
